Turning on Two Way Authenticator

Updated over 4 months ago

Accountable is excited to announce that we will be turning on Two-Factor Authentication (aka. Multi-Factor Authentication, MFA, 2FA, etc.) for ALL USERS on 06/22/2024 to enhance security. This has become customary for any protected personal information (PPI) software.Β

**This will affect how you log in to the Accountable app.**

To make the transition smooth, we've drawn up a guide on how to set up Two-Factor Authentication (see below).

  1. There you can see the two options to get authenticator code, One is by Google Authenticator and another one is by your phone number.

  2. We prefer to set up Two-Factor Authentication using Google Authenticator (or a similar phone app, like Microsoft Authenticator or Authy):

    - Download the Apple iPhone app here: Link

    - Download the Google Android app here: Link

  3. Once you have downloaded the Google Authenticator app, open it and sign in to your Google account.

  4. From there, click the "+" button in the bottom right corner and select "Scan a QR code."

  5. The app will open up a camera. Hold the camera up to the code back on my.accountablecrm.com

  6. The app will automatically add a unique rotating code, like this:

  7. Copy that unique code and enter it into the field near the bottom of the page back on my.accountablecrm.com

*Note: You'll have 30 seconds to use the code before it expires.

  8. Click Continue, and you will find the recovery code, copy the recovery code and keep it somewhere safe. You'll need it if you ever need to log in without your device.

After setting up Two-Factor Authentication, you'll be prompted for a unique code from the Google Authenticator app each time you log in to your Accountable account.
